Warzone Season 3: Launch Pad POI, New Modes & Gameplay Changes

Season 3 launches on April 2 and Warzone is getting one of its biggest map overhauls yet. The southern Hills of Verdansk are gone — replaced by the enormous Grazna-7 Launch Complex, plus Wall Jumps and Grappling Hooks are finally coming to Battle Royale. Here's everything you need to know.

New Verdansk POI: Launch Pad

The Launch Pad is a sprawling industrial complex near the shoreline just south of Promenade, built around a rocket launch facility. It's made up of four main areas:

Control Tower

The smallest of the three major structures but still a multi-story building with strong long-range views over the southwestern map boundary. An exterior Ascender zips you straight to the rooftop, and a Zipline connects to the Hangar. Inside you'll find admin offices, a server room, and a control room across multiple floors.

Hangar

The tallest building at Launch Pad, matching the Gantry in height. A large winding staircase gives access to multiple interior platforms, including a raised central platform with views both inside and out toward the Gantry. In some modes a full rocket stands in the centre. Climb to the exterior upper walkway via the south-side ladder, then take the rooftop Ascender for the best long-range vantage point on the entire POI.

Gantry

Connected to the Hangar via Zipline, the Gantry's twin staircases lead to a mid-point walkway and a top-level sniper perch. There's little interior space, but the framework of the structure provides plenty of corners and hiding spots. When you need to escape the POI quickly, the Gantry is the best launching point into the surrounding map.

Depot and Vats

A train station on the south end between the Gantry and Hangar — smaller but packed with perches and angles to contest movement between the big structures. The fuel tanks and vats lining the east end of Launch Pad offer a low rooftop walkway covering the road, plus Guild crates and single-story office buildings for further cover.

New Gameplay Features

Wall Jump & Grappling Hook in Battle Royale

Starting Season 3, Wall Jumping and the Grappling Hook are available in all Battle Royale and Resurgence modes — including Verdansk. This is a major movement shift for the game mode and will open up entirely new angles in the existing map.

Flashpoint Public Event

A new in-match event tied to the Launch Pad. When Flashpoint triggers, a random location on the map is designated as a target and a countdown begins. A missile launches from the new Launch Pad POI and strikes the target zone, eliminating all players in the area and leaving a damaging cloud. Later in the season, classified weapon spawns will be tied to the Flashpoint event.

Spikes (Mid-Season)

Spikes are experimental military stimulants available at Buy Stations mid-season. They persist on your Operator until death — if you're eliminated you'll need to re-purchase them. Three Spikes are available:

  • Armor Salvaging — instantly gain an equipped Armor Plate after eliminating an enemy
  • Prone Firing — greatly reduce weapon recoil while crouched or prone
  • Handicraft — regenerate Equipment over time

New Equipment

  • EMP Grenade (Launch) — disrupts enemy communications and equipment in Core BR and Resurgence
  • Cluster Grenade (Mid-Season) — toss it and watch enemies scatter to avoid multiple sequential explosions

New Modes

Launch Squad LTM (Launch — Verdansk)

A Verdansk-exclusive LTM focused on the new Launch Pad POI. Squads race to collect Launch Codes from eliminated enemies and other sources to activate the Launch Sequence. The squad that initiates the sequence must then survive as the Most Wanted until the match ends. No Buy Stations, Cash, or Redeploy Drones — respawns are on, and progression is purely through combat.

Battle Royale Big Map Rotation (In-Season)

Verdansk launches Season 3 as the only big map. Avalon joins Battle Royale rotation in-season, giving squads the choice of dropping either map. When Avalon goes live in Core BR, three new Gulags will be available — Server Room 04, Cryo Lab 05, and Meeting Room 07 — each a compact arena with automatic doors, reinforced glass windows, and dynamic cover.

Hot Pursuit (Mid-Season — Avalon, Black Ops Royale)

A high-speed vehicle-focused LTM inspired by the original Blackout mode. Squads of four choose to play as cops or robbers, respawning as long as one team member is alive. Vehicular combat is the key mechanic — either pursue in a police vehicle or flee in a getaway car while collecting valuables.

Prop Hunt Royale (Mid-Season — Rebirth Island, 48 players)

24v24 round-based Prop Hunt on Rebirth Island. Props get 30 seconds to hide before Hunters are unleashed. Props win if at least one teammate survives the round; Hunters win if all Props are eliminated. First to three round wins takes the match.

Iron Gauntlet Beta (In-Season — Avalon, 150 Players)

A returning competitive LTM, now moved to Avalon and updated from Duos to Trios. Adjusted rules include scarce resources, rapid circle collapses, increased base health, and loot rebalancing. Earn exclusive rewards by placing on the leaderboard.
