Black Ops 7 Season 3: All New Multiplayer Maps, Modes & Ranked Play
Season 3 for Black Ops 7 launches April 2 with nine multiplayer maps, several new modes, a new Scorestreak, and the second season of Ranked Play. Here's a full breakdown of everything coming to Multiplayer.
Launch Day Maps
Beacon (Brand New — 6v6, Medium)
A remote Guild facility in the Arctic Circle, blanketed in snow. A destroyed helicopter burns at the map's edge, and Skyveil Array crates provide cover across the entrance. The map is divided between indoor areas — a Housing unit, Monitoring Station, and Storage shed — and outdoor sightlines across the Tundra and the central Bridge. Beacon suits most playstyles with its mix of long-range exterior sightlines and tight interior corridors.
Abyss (Brand New — 6v6/2v2, Small)
Battle through the cramped interior of a submarine. Narrow corridors run from the Engine to the Torpedo Bay, with rope Ascenders scattered throughout giving access to the Forward and Aft Decks on top. Players can also position at the top of the Sail for views of the upper decks. Inside, use the upper walkways in the Forward and Aft Silos for elevated angles, and weave around the sub's infrastructure to outmanoeuvre opponents in close-quarters.
Plaza (Remastered — 6v6, Medium)
The fan-favourite Black Ops 2 map returns remastered for the first time since 2012. The addition of Wall Jumping completely changes how the iconic stairwell and upper platforms play. Battle across the outer Mall and Concourse under fireworks, fight through the Luna Nightclub, the Red Bar, and the high-end shops inside the Colossus Resort. This is Plaza like you've never played it.
Gridlock (Remastered — 6v6, Medium)
Black Ops 4's Gridlock is back. An explosive heist has left a Japanese freeway in shambles. Fight among overturned vehicles through the Garden and Terrace bookending the bath house, take long sightlines down the Street, or play tight angles inside the Restaurant. Wall Jumping adds new routing through the wreckage.
Mission: Trident (Brand New — Skirmish, 20v20)
The new 20v20 Skirmish map is set in the Old Arsenal, an Avalon point of interest. Patrol boats navigate waterways and a shoreline lined with harbour warehouses and medieval fortifications. A helipad sits high atop a section of an old cruise liner with a surprisingly lavish interior. Expect long sightlines, rooftop snipers, and ramped bridges throughout.
Mid-Season Maps
Onsen (Brand New — 6v6/2v2, Small)
A Japanese hot springs spa map. The central steam bath is the focal point of engagements, with an oni statue and outbuildings providing cover on both flanks. A small, fast map designed for close-quarters combat.
Summit (Remastered — 6v6, Medium)
The original Black Ops classic returns. A research facility high in the snowy mountains, with Wall Jumping through interior labs, catwalks, and a central control room. Its balanced three-lane layout supports quick engagements, flanks, and vertical sightlines — now fully explorable with the Black Ops 7 movement system.
Hacienda (Returning — 6v6, Medium)
The luxurious vineyard estate from Black Ops 6 returns with Wall Jump additions. Three lanes, the grand central villa, vineyard paths, and the garage and courtyard — all with the added verticality from Wall Jumping.
Ascent (New Special Map — Freerun Mode)
A bespoke map built exclusively for the new Freerun mode. Ten zones of obstacle course parkour with vertigo-inducing jumps and no margin for error. More details at Mid-Season.
New Modes
Demolition (Launch — Returning)
Attacking team must detonate both bomb sites; defending team must hold them off. Both sides respawn throughout. Each round starts with a 2.5-minute timer and every attacker carries a bomb. Plant at A or B to pause the timer and start the countdown — defenders can defuse. Extra time is added when the first site detonates, but attackers must get both. Ties go to Overtime, where the first team to detonate a single site wins.
Aim High (In-Season — Moshpit)
Headshots instantly eliminate enemies; body shots deal minimal damage. Returning from Black Ops 6, it's the sharpshooter playlist.
Snipers Only (In-Season — Moshpit)
Equipment, secondary weapons, Field Upgrades, and Scorestreaks are all restricted. Pure sniping.
Freerun (Mid-Season — New)
Ten racers sprint through the new Ascent map in a race to the finish line. Compete for additional rewards in the Mid-Season Freerun Event.
Heat Wave Havoc (Mid-Season — New LTM)
A Moshpit of TDM, Kill Confirmed, Domination, and Hardpoint with a Heat Level mechanic. Raise your Heat Level through non-lethal cooperative actions — revealing enemies, scrambling radars, buffing teammates, capturing objectives. Five Heat Levels each unlock stronger Operator bonuses:
| Heat Level | Bonus |
|---|---|
| Low Heat | Faster Field Upgrade recharge |
| Medium Heat | Faster movement, sprint-to-fire, mid-air mobility |
| Hot | Faster reloads, ADS speed, swap speed |
| Extra Hot | Equipment refills on eliminations |
| Extra Extra Hot | Increased damage and score for headshots |
Freeze Tag (Mid-Season — New LTM)
Lethal damage freezes Operators instead of eliminating them. Teammates can unthaw frozen allies by reaching and defending their position. First team to the score limit wins.
New Scorestreak: Ion Core (In-Season)
Score: 1175 | Weekly Challenge Reward
A radioactive device that creates a sphere of heat distortion damaging any enemies in range. Radiation pulses pass through walls, expanding from small to large radius before resetting. Ideal for area denial on objectives and choke points.
Overclock Abilities:
- Plutonium Core — longer duration grants an additional radiation pulse
- Chemical Catalyst — shorter downtime between pulses
Season 3 Multiplayer Ranked Play
The second season of Multiplayer Ranked Play uses the same settings, maps, modes, and weapon restrictions as the Call of Duty League.
Season 3-exclusive rewards:
