MX9 Core Stats
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Fire Rate | 741 RPM |
| ADS Speed | 220ms |
| Bullet Velocity | 300 m/s |
| Magazine Size | 25 rounds |
| Close-Range TTK | 324ms |
| Long-Range TTK | 567ms |
The 324ms close-range TTK is competitive for an SMG, though not elite. Where the MX9 falls short is its 220ms ADS—slower than you'd want for a gun that needs to win opening engagements—and its 300 m/s bullet velocity, which makes it unreliable past mid-range. The 25-round default magazine is also tight for squad modes.
Build 1: Best Build (Pure Aggression)
This is the go-to setup for maximizing the MX9's strengths in close-quarters fights.
| Slot | Attachment |
|---|---|
| Optic | Nydar Model 2023 |
| Muzzle | XRK Sandstorm |
| Barrel | 16.5" Bruen S901 |
| Magazine | Extended Mag |
| Comb | FTAC C11 Riser |
Why this works: The Extended Mag addresses the base 25-round limitation, which is essential for Warzone where you're frequently fighting through plates. The 16.5" Bruen S901 barrel helps tighten things up at close-to-mid distances, while the FTAC C11 Riser comb improves your sight picture stability. The XRK Sandstorm muzzle adds sound suppression and recoil control, and the Nydar Model 2023 gives you a clean sight without excessive zoom.
This build leans into the MX9's 324ms close-range TTK and tries to make sure every bullet in that kill window actually connects.
Build 2: Support
A slightly more versatile setup for players who pair the MX9 with a sniper or long-range AR and need reliability across a wider set of situations.
| Slot | Attachment |
|---|---|
| Optic | Nydar Model 2023 |
| Muzzle | XRK Sandstorm |
| Barrel | 508mm Rear Guard |
| Magazine | Extended Mag |
| Rear Grip | STIP-40 Grip |
Why this works: The 508mm Rear Guard barrel trades some of the S901's close-range optimization for better handling at slightly extended distances. The STIP-40 Grip on the rear grip slot helps counteract the MX9's slower 220ms ADS, giving you a quicker snap onto targets. The Nydar Model 2023, XRK Sandstorm, and Extended Mag carry over from the first build because they're too valuable to drop.
This is the build to run if you're playing a secondary SMG role in your squad rather than the entry fragger.
Damage Profile Breakdown
The MX9 has five distinct damage ranges. Here's the full picture:
| Range (m) | Head | Chest | Stomach | Legs |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0–11.2 | 40 | 37 | 37 | 33 |
| 11.2–25.5 | 33 | 30 | 30 | 27 |
| 25.5–36.5 | 24 | 22 | 22 | 19 |
| 36.5–47 | 22 | 20 | 20 | 18 |
| 47+ | 21 | 19 | 19 | 17 |
Within 11.2 meters, the MX9 deals 37 damage to the chest, which at 741 RPM translates to that 324ms TTK. The damage drops significantly past 25.5 meters—down to 22 chest damage—which is where the 567ms long-range TTK kicks in and the gun starts losing to ARs and even some competing SMGs. Keep fights inside that first damage range whenever possible.
Strengths & Weaknesses
Strengths:
- Reliable close-range performer with a 324ms TTK inside 11.2m
- 741 RPM fire rate is forgiving if you miss a shot or two
- Clean iron sights (though both builds run an optic for consistency)
Weaknesses:
- 220ms ADS is slow for an SMG—you can feel the delay in snap fights
- 300 m/s bullet velocity makes anything past 25m feel inconsistent
- 25-round base magazine requires Extended Mag in Warzone, costing an attachment slot
- Damage falls off steeply after the first range bracket
How It Compares
The MX9 competes with several other Good-tier SMGs. The AMR9 is the closest comparison—both sit in the same tier and fill similar roles. The BAS-P and C9 are also rated Good and worth considering depending on your attachment preferences. If you want to move up a tier, the Carbon 57 is rated Very Good and may offer better returns.

Verdict
The MX9 is a functional close-range SMG that does its job inside 11 meters. It won't top the tier list, but its 324ms TTK and 741 RPM give it enough lethality to compete in typical building fights and close-quarters rotations. The main trade-offs—slow ADS, low bullet velocity, and a small default magazine—are all manageable with the right build. Run the Best Build if you're pushing aggressively, or the Support build if you need faster ADS and a bit more flexibility.
Just don't try to stretch it past 25 meters. That's not what this gun is for.
