The ABR A1 is a solid long-range assault rifle option in Warzone with one standout stat: 830m/s bullet velocity. Here's how to build it for two different playstyles.

ABR A1 Overview
The ABR A1 fires at 495 RPM and currently sits in the Good tier on our meta tier list. Its base ADS speed of 260ms is slow for an AR, and vertical recoil is high at 42.58, so every attachment slot needs to pull its weight. That said, its bullet velocity outpaces most competitors in the AR class, making it effective at long distances where leading targets becomes a factor.
Key stats:
| Stat | Value | |---|---| | Fire Rate | 495 RPM | | ADS Speed | 260ms | | Bullet Velocity | 830 m/s | | Magazine Size | 30 rounds | | Vertical Recoil | 42.58 | | TTK (Close) | 364ms | | TTK (Long) | 485ms |
The 364ms close-range TTK is passable but not competitive against SMGs or faster-firing ARs. The 485ms long-range TTK is where this gun earns its keep — the high bullet velocity helps you land more shots on target at distance, effectively shrinking the gap between theoretical and practical TTK.
Damage Profile Breakdown
The ABR A1 has three distinct damage ranges:
| Range | Head | Chest | Stomach | Legs | |---|---|---|---|---| | 0–36m | 51 | 43 | 38 | 38 | | 36–48m | 49 | 41 | 36 | 36 | | 48m+ | 44 | 37 | 33 | 33 |
Chest damage drops from 43 to 41 at 36 meters and then to 37 beyond 48 meters. That third range is where the TTK stretches to 485ms — you'll need 7 chest shots to down a fully plated enemy. Mixing in headshots (44–51 damage depending on range) noticeably reduces the shots-to-kill, so upper-chest and head tracking matters more here than with higher RPM rifles.
Build 1: Long Range (Recommended)
This is the primary build. It prioritizes recoil control and visual clarity for engagements past 40 meters.
| Slot | Attachment | |---|---| | Optic | Willis 3x | | Muzzle | Compensator | | Barrel | Gain-Twist Barrel | | Underbarrel | Vertical Foregrip | | Magazine | Extended Mag II |
Why these attachments:
- Willis 3x — Clean 3x magnification for spotting and tracking at the distances this gun thrives in. You're not using this inside buildings.
- Compensator — Directly addresses the 42.58 vertical recoil, which is the ABR A1's biggest weakness.
- Gain-Twist Barrel — Builds on the already-strong 830m/s bullet velocity and adds range, leaning into what this gun does well.
- Vertical Foregrip — Stacks with the Compensator to tame vertical bounce. Without both, sustained fire past 50m gets unpredictable.
- Extended Mag II — 30 rounds base is tight for a long-range primary in Warzone where you're cracking plates and thirsting. The extra rounds mean fewer reloads during squad fights.
This build leans fully into the passive, long-range playstyle the ABR A1 is suited for. Post up on a power position, beam at distance, and let a secondary handle close quarters.
Build 2: Rush
A more aggressive configuration that sacrifices the optic for faster handling while still managing recoil.
| Slot | Attachment | |---|---| | Muzzle | Ported Compensator | | Barrel | Gain-Twist Barrel | | Underbarrel | Vertical Foregrip | | Magazine | Extended Mag II | | Fire Mods | Recoil Springs |
Why these attachments:
- Ported Compensator — Trades some of the standard Compensator's vertical control for horizontal recoil mitigation, giving a more balanced recoil pattern during faster-paced fights.
- Gain-Twist Barrel — Still worth running here for the velocity benefits, even at mid-range.
- Vertical Foregrip — Non-negotiable on a gun with 42.58 vertical recoil.
- Extended Mag II — Even more important in a rush build where you may not have time to reload between engagements.
- Recoil Springs — The fire mods slot goes to further recoil reduction, stacking three recoil-focused attachments to bring the kick under control while staying mobile.
Dropping the optic frees up the fire mods slot for Recoil Springs. You're using iron sights, which means this build is more practical inside 40 meters. Keep in mind the 260ms base ADS is slow for aggressive play — you'll want to pre-aim angles rather than snapping onto targets.
How It Compares
The ABR A1 competes with several ARs in the Good and Very Good tiers. The AK-27 currently sits a tier higher at Very Good, making it a strong alternative if you want more versatility. The AK-74 matches the ABR A1 in tier but offers a different recoil profile.
ABR A1
GoodAK-27
Very GoodThe ABR A1's bullet velocity advantage is its primary argument over these competitors. If you find yourself losing gunfights because shots aren't connecting at range, the ABR A1's 830m/s helps close that gap.
When to Use the ABR A1
- Best for: Holding long sightlines in Resurgence or Al Mazrah, particularly as a passive rotator who engages from distance before pushing.
- Pair with: A fast-handling SMG to cover the close-range weakness. The 260ms ADS and 364ms close TTK mean you lose most CQB fights against dedicated close-range weapons.
- Avoid if: You play an aggressive, entry-fragging style. The slow ADS and high recoil floor make this a poor choice for snapping onto targets in buildings.
