Best XM4 Loadout in Warzone — Long Range & Rush Builds

March 23, 2026

The XM4 is a Good-tier assault rifle that works across most engagement distances thanks to its 800 RPM fire rate and 750m/s bullet velocity. Below are two tuned builds depending on how you want to run it.

XM4 Core Stats

| Stat | Value | |---|---| | Fire Rate | 800 RPM | | ADS Speed | 260ms | | Bullet Velocity | 750 m/s | | Magazine Size | 30 | | Vertical Recoil | 40.32 | | TTK (Close) | 450ms | | TTK (Long) | 525ms |

The XM4 fires fast and sends rounds downrange quickly at 750m/s, which makes it forgiving when leading targets at distance. The trade-offs are a slower 260ms ADS time and significant vertical recoil (40.32), meaning you need attachments dedicated to recoil control to keep it competitive past mid-range.

Build 1: Long Range

This build prioritizes recoil control and range for Warzone engagements past 40 meters.

| Slot | Attachment | |---|---| | Optic | Willis 3x | | Muzzle | Compensator | | Barrel | Gain-Twist Barrel | | Magazine | Extended Mag III | | Stock | Buffer Weight Stock |

Why these attachments:

  • Willis 3x — Clean magnified optic for tracking targets at distance. Essential for a long-range primary role.
  • Compensator — Directly addresses the XM4's biggest weakness: 40.32 vertical recoil. Without a muzzle attachment handling recoil, this gun climbs hard.
  • Gain-Twist Barrel — Pushes the already-strong 750m/s bullet velocity higher, tightening the lead needed on moving targets beyond 50m.
  • Extended Mag III — 30 rounds runs dry fast at 800 RPM. In squads or duos, you need the extra capacity to down and finish without reloading.
  • Buffer Weight Stock — Additional recoil stabilization to keep the beam tight over sustained fire at range.

This setup leans fully into the XM4's strengths (fire rate, bullet velocity) while patching its recoil. The ADS speed will be slower than the base 260ms, so pair it with an SMG or shotgun for close quarters.

Build 2: Rush

A faster, more mobile setup that still controls recoil for mid-range fights.

| Slot | Attachment | |---|---| | Optic | Jason Armory 2x | | Barrel | Gain-Twist Barrel | | Underbarrel | Vertical Foregrip | | Magazine | Extended Mag III | | Stock | Buffer Weight Stock |

Why these attachments:

  • Jason Armory 2x — Lower magnification keeps situational awareness up during pushes while still giving enough zoom for mid-range picks.
  • Gain-Twist Barrel — Even in a rush build, the bullet velocity boost matters. Hitting shots at 20–40m while moving is easier when rounds arrive faster.
  • Vertical Foregrip — Replaces the Compensator from the long-range build. Tackles vertical recoil through the underbarrel slot, freeing up the muzzle (which this build drops entirely for faster handling).
  • Extended Mag III — Non-negotiable at 800 RPM. You burn through 30 rounds in 2.25 seconds of sustained fire.
  • Buffer Weight Stock — Still needed here. Even with the Vertical Foregrip, 40.32 base vertical recoil demands a second recoil-control attachment.

This build drops the muzzle attachment for snappier handling while shifting recoil control to the underbarrel. It suits aggressive rotations and mid-range gunfights where the 450ms close-range TTK can do its work.

Damage Profile Breakdown

The XM4 has three damage ranges:

| Range | Head | Chest | Stomach | Legs | |---|---|---|---|---| | 0–40.6m | 27 | 22 | 22 | 22 | | 40.6–51m | 23 | 19 | 19 | 19 | | 51m+ | 27 | 20 | 20 | 20 |

Notice the damage dip between 40.6m and 51m — chest/stomach/legs drop to 19, then partially recover to 20 at 51m+. The head damage also dips to 23 in that middle range before climbing back to 27. This means the 40–51m window is the XM4's weakest zone, which is worth keeping in mind when choosing engagements. The 525ms long-range TTK reflects this drop-off.

How It Compares

The XM4 sits in the Good tier alongside the ABR A1 and AK-74, while the AK-27 currently ranks a step above at Very Good. If you're deciding between these ARs, the XM4's combination of fire rate and bullet velocity gives it an edge in consistency at range, but its recoil cost is higher than most alternatives.

When to Use the XM4

  • Strengths: 800 RPM fire rate makes it forgiving if you miss a shot or two. 750m/s bullet velocity is high for the AR class, reducing the need to lead targets.
  • Weaknesses: 260ms ADS is slow for an AR — you lose snap duels to faster-handling rifles. Vertical recoil at 40.32 demands at least two recoil-control attachments, which limits build flexibility.

The XM4 is a solid all-range option that rewards players who commit attachment slots to recoil management. It won't out-handle lighter ARs up close, but its fire rate and velocity make it reliable from mid to long range.
