Best MK.78 Loadout in Warzone — 3 Builds for Every Playstyle

March 16, 2026

The MK.78 sits in the Very Good tier on our meta tier list and brings one of the faster kill times among LMGs — 368ms up close at 150 HP — backed by 800m/s bullet velocity and a 75-round magazine out of the box. Here are three builds depending on how you want to run it.

MK.78 Stats at a Glance

| Stat | Value | |---|---| | Fire Rate | 652 RPM | | ADS Speed | 440ms | | Bullet Velocity | 800m/s | | Magazine Size | 75 rounds | | TTK (close) | 368ms | | TTK (long) | 552ms | | Tier | Very Good |

The main trade-off is a 440ms ADS time — slow even by LMG standards. Every build below either leans into the MK.78's ranged strengths or tries to offset that ADS penalty.

Damage Profile

| Range | Head | Chest / Stomach / Legs | |---|---|---| | 0–40m | 37 | 31 | | 41–60m | 28 | 24 | | 61m+ | 27 | 23 |

Inside 40 meters you're dealing 31 damage to the body, which means a five-shot kill on a 150 HP target (155 total). That's where the 368ms TTK comes from. Beyond 41 meters it drops to 24 per shot, requiring seven body shots and pushing the TTK to 552ms. Headshots help close that gap — 28 damage at mid-range means mixing in a couple of head hits can shave a full shot off.

Build 1: Long Range

Designed to maximize range and stealth on the map. This is the default pick for holding power positions in Resurgence or locking down sightlines in Al Mazrah.

| Slot | Attachment | |---|---| | Optic | Fang HoverPoint Elo | | Muzzle | Monolithic Suppressor | | Barrel | 25" EAM Heavy Barrel | | Underbarrel | Bowen Sentry Foregrip | | Stock | Shock Shield Stock |

Share Code: L01-2R4TE-5EBBD-11

The Monolithic Suppressor keeps you off the minimap while extending range, and the 25" EAM Heavy Barrel pushes bullet velocity and damage range further. The Bowen Sentry Foregrip and Shock Shield Stock work together to tighten the recoil pattern, which matters when you're challenging at 50+ meters where the damage drops to 24 per hit. The Fang HoverPoint Elo gives a clean sight picture without excessive zoom. This build leans fully into the passive mid-to-long support role — pre-aim and let the 75-round mag do the work.

Build 2: Rush

For players who want to push with the MK.78 rather than anchor with it. This trades suppression for recoil control and adds ammo capacity.

| Slot | Attachment | |---|---| | Optic | Greaves Accuspot 3x | | Muzzle | RL-7.62 Compensator | | Barrel | 25" EAM Heavy Barrel | | Underbarrel | Bowen Sentry Foregrip | | Magazine | MFS Heatshield Belt Fed |

Share Code: L01-T49HC-5HZW1

The RL-7.62 Compensator replaces the Monolithic Suppressor here — you give up stealth for better vertical recoil control, which makes tracking targets at medium range easier during sustained fire. The MFS Heatshield Belt Fed magazine boosts capacity beyond the default 75 rounds, giving you more room to challenge multiple enemies without reloading. The Greaves Accuspot 3x optic provides solid magnification for mid-range engagements. Keep in mind: ADS is still 440ms base, so you'll want to be pre-aimed before engagements whenever possible.

Build 3: Support

A hybrid build that keeps you off the minimap while adding flinch pressure through overpressured rounds.

| Slot | Attachment | |---|---| | Optic | Greaves Accuspot 3x | | Muzzle | Monolithic Suppressor | | Barrel | 22" Impulse HB-762 Barrel | | Stock | Shock Shield Stock | | Fire Mods | 7.62 NATO Overpressured |

Share Code: L01-21XKJ-I9DF3-PB11

The 7.62 NATO Overpressured fire mod increases flinch dealt to enemies, which at 652 RPM creates a steady stream of disruption — opponents will struggle to return accurate fire while you're on target. Combined with the Monolithic Suppressor and Shock Shield Stock, this build is built around holding angles and making life difficult for anyone who peeks you. The 22" Impulse HB-762 Barrel is a slightly shorter barrel option that keeps handling tighter than the 25" variant. This is the build for team play — suppress an angle while your squad pushes.

How It Compares

The MK.78 outranks the other LMGs in our database right now. The 556 Icarus, Bruen MK9, DG-58 LSW, and Feng 82 all sit in the Good tier, one step below the MK.78's Very Good ranking.

The MK.78's combination of 800m/s bullet velocity and 368ms close TTK gives it a notable edge in raw stats. Its 75-round default mag also means you're less reliant on a magazine attachment to feel comfortable in squad fights, which frees up a slot for recoil or handling improvements.

When to Pick the MK.78

  • Mid-range support: The 800m/s bullet velocity and large magazine make it effective for holding sightlines between 20–50 meters.
  • Team fights: 75 rounds lets you stay in extended fights without reloading, and the overpressured Support build adds flinch pressure.
  • Avoid close-quarters primaries: 440ms ADS means you'll likely lose to SMGs and fast ARs in reactive gunfights. Pair with a sniper support or SMG secondary.
