The Sokol 545 is a 550 RPM light machine gun sitting in the Very Good tier on our meta tier list. With 740m/s bullet velocity straight out of the box and a 102-round magazine, it's built for sustained mid-range fire support. Here are two tuned builds to get the most out of it.

Why the Sokol 545?
Two stats define this gun:
- 740m/s bullet velocity — among the highest in the LMG class, making lead compensation at range almost unnecessary.
- 102-round default magazine — no need to waste an attachment slot on extended mags.
The trade-off is a 420ms ADS time, which is slow even by LMG standards. That rules out aggressive rushing but fits the gun's identity as a passive, mid-to-long-range suppression tool. Its close-range TTK of 436ms is serviceable but won't win many snap duels, while the long-range TTK of 655ms is competitive when you factor in the bullet velocity advantage.
Damage Profile
| Range | Head | Chest | Stomach | Legs | |-------|------|-------|---------|------| | 0–50m | 38 | 32 | 32 | 32 | | 51–70m | 37 | 31 | 31 | 31 | | 71m+ | 28 | 24 | 24 | 24 |
The first damage drop-off at 51m is gentle — only 1 point per zone — so the Sokol stays lethal well into mid-range. The steeper drop at 71m is where you'll notice the TTK climbing, which is why the builds below focus on tightening accuracy at distance to maximize chest and head hits.
Build 1: Long Range
Designed for holding power positions and beaming at distance.
| Slot | Attachment | |------|------------| | Optic | Fang HoverPoint Elo | | Muzzle | Monolithic Suppressor | | Barrel | 18.2" Parlous Heavy Barrel | | Stock | Taction Control Stock | | Fire Mods | Buffer Spring |
Share Code: L04-T43XE-V6NQ5
The Monolithic Suppressor keeps you off the minimap while adding range, and the 18.2" Parlous Heavy Barrel extends the effective damage envelope further. The Taction Control Stock tightens idle sway and aiming stability, which matters when you're holding a lane for extended periods. Buffer Spring in the Fire Mods slot helps smooth out the recoil pattern for more consistent shots at range.
The Fang HoverPoint Elo gives a clean sight picture without excessive zoom — useful since this gun already performs well at mid-range and you don't want to over-commit to a magnified optic that hurts awareness.
Build 2: Support
Tailored for team play and applying pressure across multiple angles.
| Slot | Attachment | |------|------------| | Optic | Fang Hoverpoint Elo | | Muzzle | Monolithic Suppressor | | Barrel | 18.2" Parlous Heavy Barrel | | Stock | Taction Control Stock | | Fire Mods | 5.45 Overpressured |
Share Code: L04-21YVV-R4RCL-7D11
The core of this build is identical to the Long Range setup, with the key swap being 5.45 Overpressured in the Fire Mods slot instead of Buffer Spring. Overpressured rounds increase flinch dealt to enemies you hit, making it significantly harder for opponents to return accurate fire. On a 550 RPM gun with 102 rounds, that means you can pin players down while teammates push or reposition.
This is the build to run when your squad already has a sniper or a fast SMG player and needs someone to create space with volume of fire.
How It Compares
The Sokol 545 outranks several other LMGs currently sitting in the Good tier:
- 556 Icarus — Good tier. The Sokol's higher bullet velocity gives it a meaningful edge at range. You can compare with 556 Icarus for a full stat breakdown.
- Bruen MK9 — Good tier. A solid all-rounder, but the Sokol's 102-round default magazine means less downtime.
- DG-58 LSW and Feng 82 — Both Good tier alternatives worth considering if you want a different feel, but neither matches the Sokol's bullet velocity.

When to Pick the Sokol 545
- Resurgence modes: The large magazine and suppression potential let you hold rooftops and high-ground positions without reloading between engagements.
- Quads/Trios: The Support build especially shines when you have teammates who can capitalize on flinched enemies.
- Avoid: Solo aggressive play. The 420ms ADS time is a liability in close-range 1v1s — pair it with a fast-handling SMG secondary.
Final Thoughts
The Sokol 545 won't win sprint-to-fire races, but that's not what it's for. A 436ms close-range TTK, 655ms long-range TTK, 740m/s bullet velocity, and 102 rounds in the magazine make it a reliable platform for holding angles and suppressing opponents at mid-range. The Long Range build maximizes accuracy, while the Support build adds flinch disruption for team play.
