Avalon Map Guide — All Points of Interest, Zones & Best Rotations in Black Ops Royale

Avalon is the flagship battle royale map for Black Ops Royale, the BR mode in Black Ops 7. It's a large archipelago roughly comparable in scale to the original Blackout map, built around the Endgame campaign setting. The map features 21 named major POIs spread across 5 macro-zones, all connected by bridges, tidal flats, and waterways.

Before we dive into every location, remember that Black Ops Royale plays fundamentally differently from standard Warzone. There are no custom loadouts, no Buy Stations, and no Gulag. You scavenge everything from ground loot, upgrade weapons through Attachment Kits, and rely on a limited Redeploy Token system to bring back teammates. Keep that in mind as we break down every zone.

How the Avalon Map Works

Avalon is an island chain. Water separates many of the zones, meaning bridges and tidal flats are critical chokepoints. The ring typically closes from the outer edges toward the central-south area around Low Town, Pier District, and High Town, so positioning yourself near the center mid-game is almost always advantageous.

Key things to know:

  • Wingsuit insertion replaces the traditional parachute, giving you more horizontal glide distance
  • Omnimovement (sprint, slide, dolphin dive in any direction while ADS) makes every engagement dynamic
  • Vehicles include ATVs, LTVs, 5-seat Helicopters, Cargo Trucks, and Tactical Rafts for water crossings
  • Weapon Rarity scales from Common (1 attachment) up to Exotic (up to 8 attachments) — finding Attachment Kits on the ground lets you upgrade mid-match
  • Armor Vest tiers go from Tier 1 (25% damage mitigation) to Tier 2 (35%) to Tier 3 (50%), and Trauma Kits grant a temporary +250 HP bonus

All 5 Macro-Zones & Every Named POI

Northwest Zone

The northwest is a mix of luxury estates and elevated terrain. Mid-range fights dominate here.

  • Golf Club — Hilly terrain with sand traps and bunkers. A spiritual successor to the classic BO1 "Hazard" map. Expect mid-range engagements across open fairways with scattered cover. Good for an uncontested early drop but limited loot density.
  • Residences — An elite enclave split into sub-zones including the Tennis Club and Azure Pine areas. Multi-level buildings create vertical fights. Solid loot if you clear the full compound.
  • Trinity Stadium — A multi-level stadium based on the BO6 "Red Card" map. Ascenders take you to the roof for strong vantage points. High loot concentration makes this a classic hot-drop. If you land here, grab a close-quarters weapon immediately.
  • Casino — A large luxury building supporting both indoor gunfights and rooftop combat. The adjacent Mansions and Estates provide high-ground positions overlooking the Casino floor. Strong mid-game rotation point.
  • High Town — The central business district, packed with skyscrapers that offer the best long-range vantage points in the entire northwest. A nearby Yacht serves as a recon position. Top-tier landing spot for players who want to play vertically.

Northeast Zone

The northeast offers more open terrain alongside some of the map's most intense indoor combat.

  • Winery — Vast, flat vineyard rows with minimal cover. This is marksman rifle and sniper territory. The nearby Mountain Village and High Village areas include a church tower that doubles as a strong overwatch position.
  • Resorts — Based on the BO6 "Skyline" multiplayer map. Three floors of interior combat, underground parking for flanks, and beach access for water rotations. Familiar layout for BO6 veterans. A strong mid-game position thanks to multiple escape routes.
  • Excavation Site — Ancient ruins featuring trenches, stone blocks, and a center crater. Balanced terrain that supports multiple engagement ranges. A good landing spot for squads that want a mix of loot without extreme heat.
  • Colosseum — An underground gladiatorial arena with intense close-quarters combat and high-tier loot. This is a consensus top 2-3 landing spot. If you drop here, commit fully — half-measures get you killed in the tunnels.

Southwest Zone

The southwest is more isolated, built around coastal fortifications and classic map recreations.

  • Coastal Security — Docks and a lighthouse. Smaller-scale fights, but controlling this area gives you command over coastal rotation paths.
  • Firing Range — A direct recreation of the iconic BO1 "Firing Range" multiplayer map. Complex and labyrinthine — knowing the original layout gives you a massive advantage. Tight sightlines and plenty of head glitches.
  • Fort (Fort d'Avalon) — A coastal fortress sitting on an isolated island. Parapets and towers make it extremely defensible in late-game scenarios. If the ring closes here, the team holding the Fort has a serious advantage.
  • Listening Post — A traversal corridor connecting Firing Range and Fort. Not a primary landing spot, but critical for rotations between the two.

South Central Zone (The Busiest Area on the Map)

This is where the action concentrates. Expect the highest player density and the most chaotic mid-game fights.

  • Low Town — The #1 consensus landing spot on Avalon. Built on the "Low Town" multiplayer map, it features dense streets, rooftops connected by ziplines, Ascenders for vertical movement, and water access from the docks. Highest loot concentration on the map. If you want action from the first second, this is where you go.
  • Pier District — Mid-rise buildings, apartment complexes, and a Ferris Wheel landmark. CQB-heavy with rooftop-to-rooftop fights. Feeds directly into Low Town rotations.
  • Heliport — Industrial zone with a nearby High-Voltage Substation and Warehouse. Less contested than Low Town but still central enough to rotate anywhere.
  • Chop Shop — An industrial depression surrounded by islands. The geography naturally funnels players into ambush positions. Approach with caution, especially mid-game.

Minor POIs in South Central: Hillside Apartments, Ruins Overlook, Fire Station, Avalon Bridge (the key safe water crossing), and Communication Tower (the highest elevation point on the entire map).

East / Southeast Zone

The eastern side of Avalon features cliff-side combat, industrial compounds, and some of the most unique interior spaces on the map.

  • Cliff Town — Cliff-side fortress ruins with narrow streets, underground walkways, and a bell tower that is one of the top sniper spots on Avalon. Extreme CQB in the streets below. A top-5 landing spot for aggressive players.
  • Water Treatment — Industrial silos and warehouses with an Aqueduct nearby. Solid loot, lower traffic. Good for squads that want to gear up before rotating into the center.
  • Car Factory — Based on the classic BO1/BO2 "W.M.D." map. Massive hangars with staircases and catwalks create strong vertical gameplay. If you know the layout, you can dominate the interior angles.
  • Old Arsenal — A docking area featuring an unfinished cruise liner interior. This is one of the most unique combat spaces on Avalon — tight corridors, multiple decks, and unpredictable engagement distances.

Best Sniper Positions on Avalon

If you find a quality sniper rifle or marksman rifle, head to one of these spots:

  • High Town Skyscraper — Overlooks the northwest and central zones
  • Trinity Stadium Roof — Use Ascenders to reach the top; dominant sightlines
  • Cliff Town Bell Tower — Controls the entire eastern approach
  • High Village Bell Tower — Overwatch on the Winery and northeast flatlands
  • Communication Tower — The highest point on the map, period. Full 360-degree visibility.

Top 5 Landing Spots

Based on community consensus and loot analysis:

  1. Low Town — Highest loot density, best rotation options, most action. The default choice.
  2. Colosseum — Underground arena with high-tier loot. Intense early-game but incredibly rewarding.
  3. Resorts — Familiar BO6 "Skyline" layout, stacked loot across three floors. Strong mid-game position.
  4. High Town — Central skyscrapers for traditional BR high-ground play. Excellent for snipers.
  5. Cliff Town — High action, extreme CQB, bell tower for overwatch. Not for the faint-hearted.

Activities — How to Gear Up Fast

Black Ops Royale replaces Buy Stations with an Activities system. There are 8 activity types scattered across Avalon:

| Activity | What You Do | Key Reward | |---|---|---| | Target Uplink Station | Eliminate a bounty target within 3 minutes | Bounty-specific loot | | Surprise Shipment | Destroy robotic Guild threats in a container | Armor Satchel + loot | | Surveillance Drone | Destroy a Guild Drone | Activity reveals + loot | | Strongbox Crack | Open a Guild safe with a Safecracker Drive USB | Guaranteed Tier 2 Armor + loot (but reveals your position) | | Relay Antenna | Activate and hold an antenna | Temporary UAV sweep + Redeploy Drone (~1 min) | | Redeploy Tower | Interact until timer completes (faster with squad) | Redeploy all dead squadmates | | Supply Drop / Ammo Cache | Loot a random drop | High-value random loot | | Cradle Breach | Enter a red gas/zombie zone | Mangler Boss → guaranteed Tier 3 Armor + Exotic weapon chance; Mystery Box → Exotic weapons including the Ray Gun |

Fastest Path to Tier 3 Armor

  1. Cradle Breach — Kill the Mangler Boss for a guaranteed Tier 3 Armor Vest. Highest risk, highest reward. The red gas zone also contains Mystery Boxes with Exotic weapons.
  2. Strongbox Crack — Guaranteed Tier 2 Armor with a high chance of Tier 3. Requires a Safecracker Drive USB and broadcasts your position.
  3. Legendary / Exotic ground loot chests — Random but possible. Prioritize high-loot POIs like Low Town and Colosseum.

Best Rotation Strategies

Rotation on Avalon is defined by water. Here's how to move smart:

  • Early game: Land at your chosen POI, loot thoroughly, and complete one nearby Activity before the first ring closes. Prioritize an Armor upgrade and at least a Rare-tier weapon.
  • Mid-game: Move toward the center. The ring almost always pulls toward the Low Town / Pier District / High Town corridor. Use tidal flats — drained water corridors that create temporary land bridges between islands — to avoid bridge chokepoints.
  • Avalon Bridge is the safest water crossing and the single most important chokepoint on the map. In mid-to-late game, controlling the bridge (or at least crossing it early) is critical.
  • Communication Tower (central-south) gives you the highest elevation and effective UAV-style recon. Rotating through here before the final circles lets you spot enemy positions.
  • Late game: If the ring closes on the south-central zone, Low Town rooftops and Pier District apartments become king. If it pulls northwest, fight for High Town's skyscrapers or Trinity Stadium's roof. Fort d'Avalon is a fortress if the ring favors the southwest — nearly impossible to push into.
  • Use vehicles wisely. Tactical Rafts let you bypass bridge chokepoints entirely. Helicopters (5-seat) are powerful for full-squad repositioning but make you a target. ATVs and LTVs are best for mid-game rotations across open terrain.

FAQ

How big is the Avalon map in Black Ops Royale?

Avalon is roughly comparable in scale to the original Blackout map from Black Ops 4. It's a large archipelago with 21 named major POIs across 5 macro-zones, connected by bridges, tidal flats, and waterways.

What is the best landing spot on Avalon?

Low Town is the #1 consensus landing spot due to its highest loot concentration, central positioning, and multiple rotation options. Colosseum and Resorts are strong alternatives if you want slightly less chaos.

How do I get Tier 3 Armor on Avalon?

The fastest guaranteed path is completing a Cradle Breach activity and defeating the Mangler Boss. Strongbox Crack activities also offer a high chance at Tier 3 Armor. Otherwise, look for Legendary or Exotic ground loot chests in high-density POIs.

Are there loadout drops in Black Ops Royale?

No. Black Ops Royale does not have custom loadouts, Buy Stations, or a cash economy. All weapons and equipment are scavenged from ground loot. You upgrade weapons using Attachment Kits found throughout the map.

Is there a Gulag in Black Ops Royale?

No. Instead, Black Ops Royale uses a limited Redeploy Token system (one per player) and Redeploy Towers scattered across Avalon. The Relay Antenna activity also grants a temporary Redeploy Drone.

What are the best sniper spots on Avalon?

The top sniper positions are High Town Skyscraper, Trinity Stadium Roof, Cliff Town Bell Tower, High Village Bell Tower, and Communication Tower (the highest point on the map).

What is a Cradle Breach?

A Cradle Breach is a high-risk, high-reward activity zone filled with red gas and zombie-type enemies. Inside, you can fight a Mangler Boss for guaranteed Tier 3 Armor and a chance at Exotic weapons, or use a Mystery Box for rare weapons including the Ray Gun Wonder Weapon.

How do rotations work on Avalon?

Water defines rotations. Bridges and tidal flats are key chokepoints. Avalon Bridge is the most important crossing. The ring generally closes toward the Low Town / Pier District / High Town center, so positioning yourself in or near the south-central zone by mid-game is usually the smartest play.
