Warzone Meta Update — March 2026 AR-Heavy Tier List

Warzone Meta Snapshot — March 9, 2026

The Warzone landscape right now is defined by one word: assault rifles. In the current meta, only 4 weapons occupy the Meta tier, while a substantial 34 sit in Very Good — and the top 10 performers are almost entirely ARs. If you're not running one, you're likely at a statistical disadvantage in most mid-to-long range engagements.

Here's a full breakdown of the top weapons, their TTK values, and the builds worth running.

The Fastest Killers: AK-27 and Maddox RFB

Two assault rifles currently share the fastest close-range TTK among the top 10: the AK-27 and the Maddox RFB, both killing in 261ms up close. That's a significant edge over most of the competition.

The AK-27's top Long Range build runs:

  • Optic: Fang HoverPoint Elo
  • Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
  • Barrel: 17.6" Vandal Heavy Barrel
  • Magazine: Saber Pack Heavy Drum
  • Stock: Pugil Heavy Stock

The Maddox RFB opts for a similar suppressed setup but swaps to the 19" Virtuous-Op Barrel and Furrow Control Stock — a combination that likely favors recoil control over raw mobility. Both weapons sit in the Very Good tier and are strong picks for players who value raw killing speed.

Mid-Tier Standouts: Peacekeeper Mk1, EGRT-17, and DS20 Mirage

Just behind the 261ms leaders, a trio of ARs cluster in the 276–297ms TTK range:

| Weapon | TTK (close) | Type | |---|---|---| | Peacekeeper Mk1 | 276ms | Assault Rifle | | EGRT-17 | 296ms | Assault Rifle | | DS20 Mirage | 297ms | Assault Rifle |

The EGRT-17 at 296ms and the DS20 Mirage at 297ms are practically identical in raw kill speed, so the choice between them comes down to handling feel and recoil patterns. The EGRT-17 build leans on the 16.5" Bowen Resistor Barrel and Frigate Control Stock, while the DS20 Mirage pairs its 17.1" Abdicator Barrel with the AI-C Control Grip for rear-grip stability.

The Peacekeeper Mk1 is the fastest of the three at 276ms and runs a hefty 25" EAM Heavy Barrel — clearly a long-range-first build that trades handling for bullet velocity and range.

The Supporting Cast: AMES 85, M15 MOD 0, and X9 Maverick

The AMES 85 (320ms), M15 MOD 0 (312ms), and X9 Maverick (376ms) round out the AR contingent. The AMES 85 is the only top-10 weapon running a Compensator instead of the Monolithic Suppressor, paired with the Gain-Twist Barrel and Vertical Foregrip — a setup that suggests its strength lies in sustained accuracy rather than stealth.

The M15 MOD 0 at 312ms follows the Monolithic Suppressor template with the 16" Reticulated Barrel and Bowen Bulwark Mag. It's a solid all-rounder without a standout quirk.

The X9 Maverick is the slowest-killing weapon in the top 10 at 376ms. That's a full 115ms slower than the AK-27. However, its build includes 4.73 Caseless Overpressured fire mods, which tend to indicate damage-range benefits that offset the close-range TTK gap. It likely performs better at distance than these close-range numbers suggest.

LMGs in the Mix: Mk. 78 and Sokol 545

The only non-ARs cracking the top 10 are two light machine guns: the Mk. 78 and the Sokol 545.

The Mk. 78 kills in 276ms — matching the Peacekeeper Mk1 — and runs the same 25" EAM Heavy Barrel. With the addition of the Bowen Sentry Foregrip, this is a weapon built for holding lanes and punishing rotations. It's the clear LMG pick in the current meta.

The Sokol 545 is slower at 338ms but compensates with the Buffer Spring fire mod, which tends to improve rate of fire consistency. It's a viable option for players who prefer the deeper magazines and sustained fire that LMGs provide.

Key Trends in the Current Meta

  • AR saturation: 8 of the top 10 weapons are assault rifles. The meta heavily rewards the AR class's balance of mobility and damage.
  • Monolithic Suppressor everywhere: 9 of 10 top builds run the Monolithic Suppressor. Staying off the minimap while gaining range remains the default play.
  • Fang HoverPoint Elo dominance: The same optic appears in 9 of 10 builds. It's clearly the preferred sight for long-range AR setups.
  • Tight TTK clustering: Excluding the X9 Maverick outlier, the top weapons range from 261ms to 338ms — a 77ms spread. Gunfights are often decided by accuracy and positioning rather than raw TTK advantage.
  • Very Good tier is crowded: With 34 weapons in Very Good and only 4 in Meta, there's a wide pool of competitive options right now. Check the full tier list for complete rankings.

What to Run Right Now

If you want the fastest TTK, the AK-27 and Maddox RFB at 261ms are the picks. If you want a more forgiving weapon with strong range performance, the Peacekeeper Mk1 or Mk. 78 at 276ms offer a solid compromise. And if you're looking for variety, the EGRT-17 and DS20 Mirage are nearly identical in kill speed and worth experimenting with.
